ZYGOTE is a lightweight inflated ball, illuminated from within, that responds to pressure applied to its surface. Interacting with the ball is simple: punch it, bounce it, squeeze it, or tap it and the ball's internal LEDs react instantaneously. Dozens of balls released to an energetic audience at a major music concert, transform the environment into a multi-sensorial, interactive playground, actively engaging the crowd in a shared experience. Each ball also can act as both an input and an output device by being networked to a central computer. This allows for more complex interaction, as the crowd can modify the graphics on a screen, make the balls light up in unison, or even affect the music."
This is the sort of line i want to continue on.. you touch it, it has real time feedback.. but this sort of object has a sense of control... you can control it by if you are wanting feedback or not.
From youtube it lead me to the company http://tangibleinteraction.com/ which had a lot of really interesting projects.
I found on their site their aims: "
Surprise:
Creating experiences that deliver moments excitement or pleasure where and when people least expect it is a key ingredient in Tangibles creative and developmental process.
Connect:
Tangible works to create talk value through building experiences people will blog about, talk about and pass on to others.
Connecting with people in the real world, Tangible transforms seemingly traditional spaces to deliver an experience that will get people as involved as possible with each installation"
Def something to think about.
I found more inforation on zygotes:
"Zygote Rental FAQ
Can we have Zygote come to our country?
Yes, Zygote is ready to fly anywhere in the world
Because Zygote is intuitively punched, squeezed and thrown, it demands a lot of space. Therefore, when used indoors, the venue must have a minimum of ten meter high ceilings.
Can Zygote be used outdoors?
Yes, the Zygote will add a an impressive level of interaction to any outdoor event. However, volunteers or staff will be needed to steer the balls away from unwanted areas and to retrieve the balls at the end of the performance. Zygotes should not be used when it is raining.
What does the Zygote package include?
The Zygote package includes a minimum of three Zygotes and a Tangible Interaction Technician.
How is Zygote installed?
Installation is done by a Tangible Interaction Technician. Storage room and a place to set up must be supplied one to two days before the event. Transportation, event access and two nights hotel accommodation must also be provided for the Technician.
How much Helium is needed for each Zygote?
Generally, 1.5 cubic meters of helium is needed to properly inflate each Zygote ball."

but i was thinking for me idea that because its in a smaller area that the balls would be smaller- but still be able to be squeeze and pushed..cause they could be dropped.
Light Beat from Alex Beim on Vimeo.
This one is really cool because its something i haven't seen like this before. from this i have learnt that light amazes ppl... its wonder... and colour. you can see by their reaction to the light and colour... and also the size and shape that they are amazed.
back to youtube i found these really cool things that are getting closer to what i want.. but i really like the shape and how you can shake them.
but i read one of the comments and i sort of agreed that its just like a electronic snow globe-but still a cool idea.
